The “Postal Hinge is a pivoting device that allows a mailbox to swing out of the way when impacted by a lateral force, such as a snowplow, and returns to its original position when the cause of the impact has passed. When a snowplow or implement begins to hit your mailbox, the Postal hinge will move your mailbox up and out of the way, lessening the impact. After the impact the mail box will return to rest back at its home position.
